Our client are an Australian owned high end furniture business based in the South East Suburbs and have been operating since 1987.

Their products are beautifully designed and crafted by hand from start to finish. Their team is creative and dedicated to ensure that their design philosophy is applied to everything you see.

Due to their ongoing growth they are currently seeking Permanent Timber Machinists to join their team. Hours are 6am - 2:30pm Monday to Thursday and Fridays are 6am - 12noon with plenty of overtime on offer for the successful candidate.

Key accountabilities:

Reporting to the Leading Hand, Key responsibilities include:

• Operation of state-of-the-art CNC Machines and Flatbeds
• Operation of Buzzer, Thicknesser, Panel & Docking Saws, Straight Line Rip Saw and Timber press equipment
• Operation of Spindle Moulder, Edgebander, Sanding machines, Mortice and Tenoner equipment.
• Reading and interpreting Working Drawings
• Process jobs in our in-house software system
• Complying with safety requirements and actively participating in safety improvement initiatives
• Ensure housekeeping is of a high standard in the factory
• Maintain stock level information
• Assist in programming new patterns for CNC equipment
• Identifying quality issues and resolving root cause issues with Factory teams

To be successful:

• Trade qualifications or in the process of obtaining trade qualifications
• Enjoys working in a team environment
• Have the ability to read an interpret drawings
• A passion for sustainability
• Loves to make great furniture
• Are fully vaxxed and have your own reliable transport
